Five years retired. Feeling ‘bored’ with retirement.
Same sort of feeling I had when working, about the same timing. (I used to joke that 1st year is learning, 2nd-3rd is very productive (the expert), 4th is bored but still delivering, 5th is looking for something new.
Problem with being retired is that there is not really a next job to move to. Sigh.
My job in the last 5 years was amateur nutrition/dieting ‘expert'(I lost 60 pounds), amateur accountant/investment advisor (Mom’s house sale, invest, estate handling, inheritance investing), amateur virologist/epidemiologist (COVID-19)… These things are winding down.
I’ve got an “ideas” file with TODO items and possible hobby and pastime possibilities. I’ve been mostly doing the TODO’s and not so much pastimes.
The COVID-19 lockdowns don’t help. Had the 1st vaccine shot, but 2nd is way out in July. Unclear what the end-game for COVID is… It’ll probably turn ‘endemic’, with annual shots (like flu). BUT unclear when the panicky reactions die down. (There will be more stories about variants, forever).

Six years retired.
Wrote the above a year ago, but didn’t post. Not much improvement in mood.
Have started going through boxes in basement. Will take a while to cull. Boring.
